Board Meeting Tues. Oct 27 at 6:30pm - 18600 Burnt Candle Drive - Limited Seating
For the last few years, our annual meeting has been held in October.
But due to covid-19, the annual meeting has been postponed until further notice. At this time, we do not have an exact date of when it will be held, but know that the board is working to reschedule it so it’s convenient as possible while still following CDC and local authorities guidelines when it comes to covid-19. With the upcoming holiday season right around the corner, it may not be possible to hold our annual meeting until sometime in the first quarter of 2021. The board is working alongside ACMI to make sure that all protocols are met and followed. I share good news with thee... after 2 1/2 years in litigation, Candlelight Hills has prevailed. For those you are not familiar with this story, EZ Floors was hired to install flooring to our clubhouse after Hurricane Harvey dropped tons of water down on us 3 years ago, and flooded the place.
Once all the work was completed and we had our first event - Breakfast with Santa - certain sections of the flooring began to show oozing of the glue through the seams... a big mess and hard to clean up.
Throughout the months that went by inquiries and accusations were made by both sides, but in the end, it was determined by a third party that the glue could have been incorrectly used with the flooring that
was laid down. Hooray... finally someone’s on our side. To avoid any further legal demand, EZ Floor finally gave in and settled. Not nearly the amount that was spent to add the new floors, but it’s something for
the wrongdoing and hardship they caused.
So, I’m happy to say that we can put this one to rest.
The engineering department of Harris County has reached out to Candlelight Hills in an attempt to purchase land the Association owns. The 19+/- acre parcel is located behind the recreational center - swimming pool, playground, tennis courts and parking lot area. The white lines with the yellow call-outs in the rendering shown above outline the parcel of land they are interested in acquiring.
This info is so new to the Board that it's being vetted - What plans does the county have for the land? Is this purchase related in any way to the Cypress Creek Greenway Trails coalition project? Will this impede with repairs to our WWT plant, which Aqua is requesting use of the land to install the needed retaining wall? All good questions that are being asked. Stay tuned as developing news happens.
We need to fill an open seat on the Board. No experience necessary, will train.
The board meets once a month for about an hour an a half every fourth Tuesday of the month.

This is one complaint the HOA hears about a lot. Often, the problem is that trash cans and recycle bins don't get put away. Garbage-bin lined streets is not part of the overall image we want to give those who visit our neighborhood. When bins are left out, they can also invite all sorts of creatures who like to rummage through it. In the end, let's take in our bins every Wednesday and Saturday evening, its the neighborly thing to do.
Its that time of the year when these pesky, disease-carrying pests make a living by sucking the blood out of just about anything that moves, including us. To help matters, we have contracted with a pest control company to drive around the neighborhood to deliver much needed relief.
All exterior changes to your home must be approved by the Architectural Committee. Yes, even painting your home will require approval.

A stretch of Candlelight Hills property, behind the clubhouse, has been designated by the county as part of the greenway project. The green space will be part of a trail system that will start at Jones Park and continue through to Meyer Park. This is slated for 2023-2024. Stay tune for more information as it comes.
