No Board meeting scheduled for the month of November... enjoy your holiday!
We are pleased to present our very first movie night under the stars thanks to Sky High Party Rentals. We will be following CDC guidelines for safe outdoor gatherings. Families will have to bring their own chairs, blankets, pillows, cots, hot chocolate, air mattress, food/drink, etc. The movie will be shown at the clubhouse parking lot. Reservations are required. Limited seating. Each kiddo will receive a complimentary snacks-size bag of Pirate Booty's to munch on. Limited supply and while they last.
The Board is finally going to provide some long awaited and much needed TLC to our parking lot. The plans are to re-stripe the lines so we can all see them. More directional arrows to show us the way, two additional handicap spots for a total of four spaces, and a wider turnabout area which will make it easier for those backing out. There is some consideration to adding basketball lines, but that has not been confirmed at the time of this article.
The Board is currently seeking bids. Project is expected to start after Breakfast with Santa and be ready for the upcoming 2020 annual meeting, which is being scheduled for February 2021.
The engineering department of Harris County has reached out to Candlelight Hills in an attempt to purchase land the Association owns. The 19+/- acre parcel is located behind the recreational center. The white lines with the yellow call-outs in the rendering shown above outline the parcel of land they are interested in acquiring.
It has been determined that the 19 =/- acres of parcel in question can not be sold be a private entity. However, the DEED does grant Candlelight Hills with the power to sell it to the county.
We need to fill an open seat on the Board. No experience necessary, will train.
The board meets once a month for about an hour an a half every fourth Tuesday of the month.

Just like everything else this year, Breakfast with Santa at Candlelight Hills will look different. Sad to say there will not be breakfast and it will not be on a Saturday, BUT Santa will be making an appearance.Santa is scheduled to be at the clubhouse on Sunday, December 6th from 2-3:30 pm. Put it on your calendar.
This is one complaint the HOA hears about a lot. Often, the problem is that trash cans and recycle bins don't get put away. Garbage-bin lined streets is not part of the overall image we want to give those who visit our neighborhood. When bins are left out, they can also invite all sorts of creatures who like to rummage through it. In the end, let's take in our bins every Wednesday and Saturday evening, its the neighborly thing to do.
Its that time of the year when these pesky, disease-carrying pests make a living by sucking the blood out of just about anything that moves, including us. To help matters, we have contracted with a pest control company to drive around the neighborhood to deliver much needed relief.

A stretch of Candlelight Hills property, behind the clubhouse, has been designated by the county as part of the greenway project. The green space will be part of a trail system that will start at Jones Park and continue through to Meyer Park. This is slated for 2023-2024. Stay tune for more information as it comes.
