Oh no, the mosquitoes are back...

Oh no, the mosquitoes are back...

Its that time of the year when these pesky, disease-carrying pests make a living by sucking the blood out of just about anything that moves, including us. To help matters, we have contracted with a pest control company to drive around the neighborhood to deliver much needed relief. But take a moment to look at things from the mosquito's perspective. Mosquitoes are actually interesting creatures.

  • Mosquitoes are the deadliest animals on Earth
  • Adult mosquito may live 5–6 months
  • Mosquito's wings beat 300–600 times per second
  • Most mosquitoes can travel only 2–3 miles
  • Bug zappers don't attract mosquitoes

Take in your trash bins...

This is one complaint the HOA hears about a lot. Often, the problem is that trash cans and recycle bins don't get put away.  Garbage-bin lined streets is not part of the overall image we want to give those who visit our neighborhood. When bins are left out, they can also invite all sorts of creatures who like to rummage through it. In the end, let's take in our bins every Wednesday and Saturday evening, its the neighborly thing to do.
