Last week, the main pump that circulates the water around the pool failed. For safety and sanitary reasons, the decision was made to close the pool until repairs could be made.
We expected to get the pool back open Wednesday, July 1st just in time for the 4th of July weekend.
Remember to bring and wear your mask. CDC requires all those on pool deck to wear them. Lifeguards will be enforcing this new guideline, which we hope is temporary because wearing a mask under the sun is piping hot.

For those who celebrate, it's unfortunate that we will NOT be holding our Annual 4th of July Celebration. In all the years of living in our community, I have never heard of it being cancelled, it's one for the history books. However just because we are not going to celebrate together with the usual pageantry, it does not mean you can't still celebrate our nation's independence, which has become a well-known statement on human rights - We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men (& women) are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
Aqua will begin working on making repairs to the Candlelight Hills Waste Water Treatment plant located south at the end-point of Candlechase Drive. They are going to correct issues with the existing discharge point. The goal is to relocate, construct and stabilize a new discharge location. During this process, they are going to add a permanent 240-linear feet wall that will be 12 to 14 inches think and will vary between 15 to 20 feet in depth. This will help with the massive erosion that happens after a large storm system such as hurricane Harvey, tropical storm Imelda and so on. This project is expected to take anywhere between 200-300 days, depending on weather.

This is one complaint the HOA hears about a lot. Often, the problem is that trash cans and recycle bins don't get put away. Garbage-bin lined streets is not part of the overall image we want to give those who visit our neighborhood. When bins are left out, they can also invite all sorts of creatures who like to rummage through it. In the end, let's take in our bins every Wednesday and Saturday evening, its the neighborly thing to do.
Its that time of the year when these pesky, disease-carrying pests make a living by sucking the blood out of just about anything that moves, including us. To help matters, we have contracted with a pest control company to drive around the neighborhood to deliver much needed relief.

Our community supports recycling and is serviced by Texas Pride. Regular trash pickups occur twice a week - Wednesday & Saturday. Recycled items are picked up on Saturdays only. For more info contract TP at 281-342-8178
A stretch of Candlelight Hills property, behind the clubhouse, has been designated by the county as part of the greenway project. The green space will be part of a trail system that will start at Jones Park and continue through to Meyer Park. This is slated for 2023-2024. Stay tune for more information as it comes.
